Planning for the Crowds
One of the biggest complaints at any outdoor festival is the restroom situation. Long lines and unsanitary conditions can quickly ruin the attendee experience. Proper planning is the key to a successful event.
The Golden Ratio
As a general rule of thumb, you should provide at least one portable restroom for every 100 attendees for an event lasting up to four hours. However, this ratio changes based on several factors.
Factors to Consider
- Event Duration: Longer events require more units. If your event lasts 8 hours, you'll need significantly more restrooms than a 2-hour event.
- Alcohol Consumption: If alcohol is being served, you should increase your restroom count by 15-20%.
- Gender Ratio: Women generally require more time in the restroom than men. If your crowd skews female, adjust your numbers accordingly.
Don't Forget Handwashing
Always pair your restroom units with adequate handwashing stations. We recommend one handwashing station for every four portable restrooms.
